  This outward sign of prayer or intention for a loved one is an ancient Catholic tradition that traces its roots back to Roman times.
  
  Lighting a candle at La Salette for a friend or family member is an outward sign of hope and prayer. Once you place a request, a votive candle will be lit in our "Chapel of Light".
