This passage encourages us to embrace and care for others, including strangers, for doing so welcomes Christ Himself (Matthew 25:35–40). Hebrew 13:2 challenges us to consider: how can we provide true hospitality to those in need as we may be welcoming “angels unawares”?

2 Corinthians 5:20 invites us to urge others to restore their relationship with God through Christ. In what ways can we live out our role as Christ’s ambassadors, helping others experience reconciliation and the transforming power of God’s grace?

During the Mass, our La Salette Lay Associates will renew their promises, reaffirming their commitment to live the La Salette charism of reconciliation and service.

Our La Salette Retreat House opens its doors quarterly, offering a tranquil escape for individuals seeking the solace of a private, self-guided retreat. Enjoy lodging, six nourishing meals, daily Mass, and the opportunity for confession. Immerse yourself in the peaceful grounds of La Salette Shrine in Attleboro as you embark on a journey of self-reflection. This intimate experience awaits those who are ready to embrace rejuvenation and renewal. Fifteen (15) participants are needed to be able to host this retreat. If we do not have 15, we still welcome you, but meals will be on your own, and there will be a price reduction.

This retreat is being given by Fr. Leo LeBlanc and Fr. Ken Cardinale. It begins with Mass at 11:15 AM on Tuesday, October 1, and concludes on Thursday, October 3, with Mass at 11:15 AM. It is given in a relaxed atmosphere with four talks. Both evenings will offer DVD episodes from “The Chosen” series that specifically relate to St. Matthew. People are invited to bring munchies, desserts, and beverages to share on Wednesday evening after the DVD.

The Spirituality of Aging

This retreat is for people of all ages. We will examine our beliefs about our external identity as we age. We will share our experiences with society’s views and biases towards ‘older people'. We will also explore and scrutinize our inner ageists to uncover our self-limiting beliefs and attitudes about how we "should" behave. Through prayer, journaling, group discussion, guided practice, and meditation, we will learn to access the sacred resources within us to gain greater compassion for ourselves and others.
